Joiin and Fortnox: consolidated multi-entity reporting, budgets and forecasts for Swedish businesses
Joiin now connects to Fortnox. Businesses and accounting firms using Fortnox can authorise the connection s and start reporting across individual companies or whole groups, with data kept current through daily synchronisation. Fortnox figures sit alongside Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and other ledgers in the same consolidated report, and with Joiin’s budgeting and forecasting, you can show budgets against those actuals in the same view.
Fortnox serves businesses and accountants across Sweden and the wider Nordics with bookkeeping, invoicing, payroll and compliance. Joiin sits alongside it as the group reporting layer. Where Fortnox keeps each company’s books accurate and up to date, Joiin takes that trusted data and turns it into consolidated management reporting across the whole group.
How the connection works
Joiin imports your Fortnox trial balance automatically and keeps it current with daily synchronisation, so nobody has to remember to export anything. You authorise the connection through a secure OAuth flow in the Connections tab in Joiin. There are no API keys and no manual setup, and the connection is read-only, so nothing is ever written back to Fortnox.
Once the data is in, it behaves like any other source in Joiin. You can build consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet, cashflow, trial balance and KPI reports across any number of Fortnox companies, convert SEK into whichever currency the group reports in, and let automated intercompany eliminations handle internal loans, sales and matching balances. Add companies from Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or any other supported ledger and they all report together, which matters if your Swedish entity sits in Fortnox while the rest of the group sits somewhere else.
Budgets and forecasts alongside your Fortnox actuals
Joiin’s budgeting and forecasting puts budget figures directly alongside actuals in your consolidated reports and presentations. You can view budget values, variance amounts and variance percentages, and choose which of those columns to display. If your group keeps more than one budget, an original and a reforecast for instance, you can switch between them with a toggle and compare the same report against each.
“We’re delighted to announce our integration with Fortnox, a leading accounting platform in the Nordics. Together, we’re making it easier for businesses to bring their financial data into Joiin and access powerful consolidated reporting, from single entities to complex, multi-entity groups.”

Who it’s for
Swedish businesses running more than one company in Fortnox are the most obvious fit. Holding companies, property groups, franchise operators and multi-site businesses that keep a separate Fortnox company per legal entity now get a group view with their existing setup left exactly as it is.
International groups with a Swedish subsidiary can also benefit. Where the Swedish entity sits in Fortnox and other entities sit in Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, Joiin brings them into one consolidated report and one consolidated budget, so no system migration to get group visibility.
And for accounting and advisory firms with Fortnox clients, the connector opens up consolidated reporting and budget-versus-actual analysis as a service. Firms can manage multiple client groups from a single Joiin subscription, with tailored access and branding for each report pack.
